A versatile and resilient perennial known for its bright purplish flowers that bloom in late autumn to early winter, from October to December. Unlike many asters, this variety remains mildew-free, making it a low-maintenance choice for a wide range of garden settings.

Growing to 60cm in height, it has a mildly running habit that stays well-behaved, even in heavier soils like clay. ‘Ezo Murasaki’ is particularly well-suited to dry shade conditions under trees, providing a vibrant splash of colour when most other plants have finished blooming. Originating from Japan, it is a perfect addition to any garden looking to extend the flowering season well into the colder months.
