Larger, Darker Blooms from Spring til Frost! The buds are a rich midnight purple!

Plant Patent Applied For. Cultivar name: ‘SMSJBP7’
The latest in the amazing Bloomerang series is Dark Purple, a larger shrub with deeper midnight-blue blooms in rounded clusters that reappear regularly from spring until frost. Wonderfully floriferous, this Proven Winner shrub is ideal for sunny spots in northern and temperate spring gardens.

The flowers begin as dark midnight-purple buds, opening to brilliant lavender-blue blooms with a marvelously sweet fragrance. Perfect for cutflowers as well as garden enjoyment, the flowers arise in big, rounded clusters that last a long time, then encore throughout spring, summer, and even fall. There’s never been a Lilac like the Bloomerangs!

Dark Purple Bloomerang reaches 5 to 6 feet high and 4 to 5 feet wide, compact and very densely branched. It packs a lot of color into every inch, and because deer find it unappetizing, you can plant it even in open areas without fear of midnight marauders. This is a thoroughly satisfying plant, attractive even out of bloom.

Syringa is a cold-climate shrub, often signaling the coming of spring. The Bloomerangs are compact enough for containers, and also do well in any sunny, well-drained soil receiving regular sun and water. Long-lived and trouble-free, they are a sheer pleasure. Add Dark Purple Bloomerang to your garden this season and discover a new favorite that keeps repeating over three long, beautiful seasons! Zones 4-7.
