The Philodendron ‘Joepii’ brings an utterly fascinating, otherworldly silhouette right into your living space with its deeply lobed, uniquely shaped leaves that look like they belong in a botanical wonderland. You will want this rare climbing beauty in your home because it serves as an incredible conversation piece, instantly transforming an ordinary corner into a vibrant indoor jungle without requiring a master gardener’s touch. As this magnificent vine matures, it reaches a very manageable two to four feet in height and width, making it a fantastic statement piece for a bright floor space, a sturdy plant stand, or a moss pole that gives it room to climb. If you share your home with curious four-legged family members, you will need to plan your placement carefully; like many tropical aroids, this philodendron is toxic to cats and dogs, so keeping it elevated and safely out of paw’s reach is essential for a safe household.

To keep those uniquely notched leaves looking their absolute best, place your plant in a room that receives bright, indirect sunlight, keeping it away from harsh afternoon rays that can scorch the delicate foliage. When it comes to watering, let patience be your best guide by allowing the top two inches of potting soil to dry out completely before giving the plant a thorough soak, always ensuring your container drains fully so the roots never sit in standing water. Because this woodland native appreciates a little extra humidity, wiping down the broad leaves with a damp cloth every few weeks removes household dust and helps the plant breathe easily, rewarding you with steady, gorgeous growth season after season.
